The Beautiful Chaos of Running My Own Business: Why I Wouldn’t Trade It for the World
Running your own business is not for the faint of heart. It's hard work, late nights, and constant juggling—throw in being a wife and mom with kids in sports and events, and you've got a recipe for beautiful chaos. But as hectic as it may be, I wouldn't change it for anything. In fact, I truly believe I was meant to live this life, and every day, I fall more in love with the journey.
The Challenges: More Than Just a Full-Time Job
Many people think that working for yourself means setting your own hours and having more freedom, but here's the reality: it's much more demanding than a typical 9-to-5. When you’re a business owner, you're not just clocking in and out; you're wearing multiple hats—CEO, marketer, product designer, customer service, and everything in between. Every decision, every task, every deadline is on your shoulders.
For me, this means early mornings and late nights filled with planning, creating, and managing. From designing new products to keeping up with orders, working on marketing strategies, and maintaining my website, the list of tasks is never-ending. Some days, I wonder how I’m going to get it all done. And yet, I always find a way. Maybe it’s sheer determination, maybe it’s passion—or maybe it’s just coffee and grit.
Balancing Business and Family: Mom Life and Beyond
As if running a business wasn’t enough, I’m also a mom of three amazing kids and a spouse. My days are filled with more than just work deadlines. There are school drop-offs, practices, games, events, and a million little things that come with raising a family. My oldest, Jayden, is deep into football, and our schedule revolves around games, practices, and team events. Aubrey and Liam have their own activities too, so finding a moment of peace is rare.
But that’s what makes this life so rewarding. Every day, I’m reminded that I’m not just building a business for myself—I'm showing my kids what hard work and following your dreams can accomplish. I want to be a role model for them, teaching them that they can pursue their passions and still be there for the ones they love. Yes, the balancing act can be tricky. Sometimes it feels like I’m being pulled in a million different directions, but I wouldn't trade any of it for the world.
Why I Love This Journey
Despite the challenges, I feel like I was meant to live this life. Running my own business allows me to express my creativity, connect with amazing customers, and build something that’s truly mine. I get to set an example for my kids that it’s possible to follow your passions and be successful, even if it’s hard. And while some days are downright exhausting, there’s no greater feeling than seeing everything come together—the satisfaction of completing a big order, hearing positive feedback from customers, or watching my kids see what I’ve built.
What keeps me going is knowing that this journey is uniquely mine, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Every challenge teaches me something new, every obstacle makes me stronger, and every success reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.
Embracing the Chaos and Loving the Journey
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life is messy, chaotic, and unpredictable—but that’s also what makes it beautiful. I love this life I’m living, and I wouldn’t change it for anything. Sure, it’s not always easy. But it’s my journey, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
So, to all the other moms, spouses, and business owners out there who are hustling day in and day out, just know that you’re not alone. The challenges may feel overwhelming, but the rewards are worth it. Embrace the chaos, love the journey, and know that you are doing something incredible—both for yourself and for those you love.
Here’s to all the beautiful, crazy moments that come with running a business, raising a family, and living life to the fullest. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
